Adam Berman
Strategy and Community Outreach
Adam Berman comes to Focus for Democracy with 25 years of executive-level management and fundraising experience. Prior to joining the team, he served as founder and CEO of Urban Adamah, a Jewish community farm and environmental education center in Berkeley, CA, that he established in 2010. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, CT (2002 - 2009).
Adam has been involved in electoral politics since 2004, when he served as a founding organizer for Operation Bubbe, which brought hundreds of young Jews from the Northeast to Florida to get out the Jewish senior vote for John Kerry. For every presidential election since then, he has organized canvassing trips to either Florida or Nevada to support Democratic voting efforts in those states. He has been a donor to Focus for Democracy organizations since the beginning, and joined the team in January of 2024. He lives in Berkelely with his wife Deena, and two children, Shira and Maya.
