Thank you for volunteering to be a co-host!
Everything you need to know is right here.
NOTE: If you just want to complete Steps 1 and 2, that’s great. And if you want to do more, Steps 3-5 await you.
-
STEP 1
Create a list of people to invite.
Think broadly! Can be anyone in your life with whom you are politically aligned. For example: friends, family, ex-friends and family, colleagues and former colleagues, neighbors, book clubs, summer camp, friends of children and parents, etc.
-
STEP 2
Draft and send an email or text invitation.
Create your own personal message about why this event is important to you and why your people should attend. You are welcome to copy text from our sample email. Be sure to copy the event date/time & Zoom registration link below into your email:
Tuesday, March 4th at 5pm PT/8pm ET

STEP 3
Track those who respond.
Specifically, you want to track three types of responses: (1) those who say “yes” so you can send them a reminder email a couple days before the event; (2) those who say that they’d like to attend but can’t make the date, so you can invite them to the next event, and (3) those who don’t respond so you can invite them again 48 hours later.
Email gabrielle@focus4democracy.org for our handy-dandy tracking spreadsheet to make this work easier.
-
STEP 4
Let us know how it’s going.
After you’ve sent your invite emails, please complete this form with some basic information about your experience.
-
STEP 5
Register.
Don’t forget to register for the event yourself. You can do so here.

Have questions?
Check out our FAQ.
Pro Tip #1: Send personal (not group) emails or texts to people you’d really like to attend. Personal outreach increases response rates by more than 300%.
Pro Tip #2: Some people you invite simply can’t make the date of the event. For this reason, consider co-hosting two events in a row!
